Hold Fast Your Dreams!

A little poem quote inspiration for your day:

August 4 Page

“Hold fast your dreams!
Within your heart
Keep one still, secret spot
Where dreams may go,
And, sheltered so,
May thrive and grow
Where doubt and fear are not.
O keep a place apart,
Within your heart,
For little dreams to go!”

– Louis Driscoll, excerpt from “Hold Fast Your Dreams!”

SAMSUNGThis is from today’s page in the ‘Moments for Myself, Daily Inspiration Calendar’. Originally printed in 2006, I received this calendar from a client back in 2007. Yes, seven years ago! It still sits on my desk to this day since it is a perpetual calendar – I can look at August 4 in any given year and get the same message whether it’s a Monday or a Friday or any day in between. Sometimes I look at it every day, other times it might be months before I remember to flip its little pages. I like to think that the universe takes time to talk to me through this little calendar, reminding me to riffle the days when I need a little inspirational reminder. Today I flipped it from May 6 to today (yeah…four months…oops). And this one did speak to me.

Today’s page resonated because I’ve put some dreams on hold lately. I’ve stopped writing for the most part – here, my novels, everywhere! And I need to let that dream of being an author – a real, published author not just a writer – take root and grow again. Because when I think of happiness, when I picture me at my best, there’s a pen in my hand or a keyboard under my fingers.

Thank you little calendar – and thank you universe – for reminding me to keep my dreams safe and to allow them to grow.

XO – T.
