A poem I wrote recently. Just wanted to share it. Read the rest of this entry
It’s official. In about 90 minutes, I will slowly begin to lose my mind…and develop a third novel. For the month of July, I’ve decided to throw myself into a fabulous summer camp – Camp NaNoWriMo!
This post is to get ME inspired to be writing. Because the only writing I’ve done this month is here. And that’s fun and nice and great for y’all. But, it’s not going to get my books out of my head and on paper. So, hopefully this one will remind me WHY we write and encourage us to get to doing it!
I follow several groups/pages on Facebook that support indie writers. When they’re not doing cover reveals, teasers or giveaways, many of their posts consist of cute reading-related sayings in picture format. Often I’ll simply “LIKE” them, occasionally comment or at the very least chuckle and move on. But, this one made me stop, shake my head and come over here to write.
These are a few of my favorite lines…from my own novel, Compliments from a Stranger. Hope you like!
The writer in me wants to take these “starters” and write a whole story around each and every one of them. Or maybe combine a couple…
Thought I’d share the first chapter of my first novel, Compliments from a Stranger. Many people need to be “hooked” from the first few pages so let me know if I caught you with this and/or with the cover. I’m trying to get this edited and ready for publishing so I covet love your feedback. And if you’re an agent, I would LOVE to talk to you!!)
Compliments from a Stranger is the first full-length novel I wrote. It came into being in April 2013 during the wonderful Camp NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). I’ve edited it a couple of times but it still needs more refinement. However, I needed a visual to go with it, for my own edification. My photographer friend (who took the blog header image) took a stab at the design for the book. This isn’t the final cover, but it will look very close to this (we know the woman isn’t the right one…). Before I give you any excerpts, I thought you’d like to see this first.
