YES, MY NOVEL IS DONE!
OK, to be fair, there’s the whole edit, refine, fluff, blah blah blah to do. But the thing is DONE. Written. And I’m pretty doggone happy about it!!
I met the woman I want to emulate in about 40 years. She was absolutely wonderfully perfect. She’s 80-something, a cancer survivor, married 63 years, gloriously blunt, uplifting to all she meets and exceedingly joyful. Her name is Margaret. And she made my life exponentially better in just ten minutes.

Oh yes. It’s that time of year when people make resolutions…and sometimes break them. My plans, however, tend to be less resolution-y and more goal-oriented. And this year, I have just one big one – more ME.
I read this and there was nothing more I could add to it. It was exactly what I felt today – that I had enough, that I do enough, that I AM enough. I hope that you may have this feeling, not just once but always. I am enough. YOU are enough. We are all ENOUGH, just as we are, where we are, how we are.

Oh you love haters! We’ve all been inundated with the “I hate Valentine’s Day” naysayers, haven’t we? Complaints about the commercial aspects, how it’s a “Hallmark” holiday (which, BTW, it’s NOT. Do a little research, would ya?) and, worst in my eyes, the “I’m single and this day SUCKS” people. This is a note to you…and to those who love Valentine’s Day. And to even those who are ambivalent about it. Basically, it’s a note to everyone. 🙂
This weekend I had the wonderful pleasure of being included in the 11th annual Wild Women’s Wine Weekend – and I had a blast!
Even though summer is over, the movie dates with my amazing sons continue. Last Sunday’s movie of choice – The Maze Runner. The younger twin read this book last year and hasn’t stopped pestering everyone he knows to read it – including me and his brother. We didn’t read it yet (oops) but couldn’t resist going to see it anyway, breaking my “Read the book before seeing the movie” personal rule. And I’m so glad we didn’t wait! Read the rest of this entry
Call it a midlife crisis or finding myself or just a turning point. But at 40 I’m starting to finally figure out I’m okay to just be me. And I kinda like who I am.
Here in Kansas City there is a large gala fundraiser for The University of Kansas Hospital Cancer Center every year called “Treads & Threads”. Through my company and specifically my own job, I’m able to work with this group for their digital needs – and I love it!
Do you have something on your desk or workspace that no matter how many times you see it or how bad your day is going, it will bring a smile to your face? I have at least ten. These are those items, in no particular order.
